Clinival-V is a vaginal pessary that contains Clindamycin and Clotrimazole.

Clindamycin in general is an antibiotic used for treating several other infections as well. It is effective against several types of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Propionibacterium acnes. It reduces growth of bacteria by interfering with their ability to make proteins.

Clinival-V vaginal pessary is indicated for the treatment of vaginal infections- both fungal and bacterial infections such as Vulvovaginal Candidiasis( Toilet Infection), Bacterial Vaginosis and Trichomonas Vaginalis as well as restores a healthy vaginal floral. The vaginal flora are the bacteria that live inside the vagina. The normal vaginal flora are dominated by various lactobacillus species. Lactobacilli help to keep the vagina healthy by producing lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and other substances that inhibit the growth of yeast and other unwanted organisms.
